AutoGenik provides vehicle security, tracking, camera and telematics installation services. For the personal information described in this policy, AutoGenik is the data controller.

Depending on how you contact us and the services you request, we may collect:

  • Your name, telephone number, email address and contact preferences.
  • Vehicle details, including registration, make, model and information relevant to compatibility or installation.
  • Customer type, fleet size, insurer requirements and the products or services in which you are interested.
  • Enquiry messages, quotation details, appointment records and communications with us.
  • Billing, payment and transaction records where you become a customer. We do not intend to store full payment-card details ourselves.
  • Technical information such as IP address, browser, device type and basic server logs when you use the website.

Please do not include unnecessary sensitive personal information in an enquiry.

4. Product Finder

The Product Finder uses the answers you select to display possible product categories. Its results are indicative, run in your browser and do not make a decision with legal or similarly significant effects. A member of our team confirms vehicle compatibility, insurer requirements and final pricing before any booking.

5. Who we share information with

We may share only the information reasonably necessary with:

  • Our website hosting, email, communications, payment, accounting and business-system providers.
  • Product manufacturers, monitoring providers, telematics platforms, insurers or approved service partners where needed to confirm compatibility, activate a service, support recovery or fulfil your request.
  • Installers or subcontractors involved in delivering an agreed service.
  • Professional advisers, regulators, courts, law-enforcement bodies or other parties where disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect legal rights.

We do not sell personal information.

6. Tracking and telematics services

If you purchase a monitored tracking or telematics service, the relevant service provider may separately control or process location, journey, driver, camera or account data through its platform and app. Its own privacy notice and subscription terms will apply. We will identify the applicable provider before activation.

7. International transfers

Some technology providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, we require an appropriate safeguard, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual protections, unless another lawful exception applies. You may contact us for further information about safeguards relevant to your data.

8. How long we retain information

We retain personal information only for as long as it is needed for the relevant purpose:

  • General enquiries and unsuccessful quotations: normally up to 24 months after the last communication.
  • Customer, installation, warranty and transaction records: normally for the service or warranty period and up to six years afterwards where needed for tax, contractual or legal purposes.
  • Marketing preferences: until you unsubscribe or we determine that the information is no longer current, while retaining a minimal suppression record where necessary.
  • Technical logs: for a limited period appropriate to security and fault diagnosis.

We may retain information longer where the law requires it or a dispute or investigation makes this necessary.

9. Cookies and third-party content

The present website may use essential browser storage needed for basic operation. The interactive vehicle is provided through an embedded Sketchfab viewer. When it loads, Sketchfab may receive technical information such as your IP address and device details under its own privacy practices. If we introduce non-essential analytics, advertising or similar cookies, we will provide suitable information and consent controls before those technologies are activated.

10. Security

We use reasonable organisational and technical measures intended to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration and disclosure. No online system is completely secure, so please avoid sending unnecessary confidential information through the enquiry form.

11. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you the right to request access to your information, correction, erasure, restriction, data portability or to object to certain processing. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
